Melissa and Michael’s Mottram Hall Wedding

Melissa and Micheal’s wedding was my first of the year and what a way to start the wedding season. Mottram Hall has long been a favourite wedding venue of mine and I’ve shot there many times before. In fact, I seem to remember my dad telling me our surname of Mottershead has some link to the history there. I’ve no idea if this is true, but I like the idea of roaming around this estate as some kind of lord of the manor!

I had filmed Melissa and Michael’s friend’s wedding previously, which also took place at Mottram Hall. It’s always so nice to be recommended like that.

The day started with bridal prep filming and with 10 bridesmaid, it was a busy morning with lots to film. The make up and hair team were brilliant though.

With the higher wedding package that the couple had chosen, there were two wedding videographers on site. So my colleague John was able to film the guys getting ready at the same time.

The boys weren’t afraid of a tipple to calm those nerves.

After the preparation it was time to move onto the church for the ceremony itself. I always love to capture all the venues through aerial videography if possible. The drone really shows off your day in style. It’s a view we’re not used to seeing, and these shots add so much production value to the finished wedding video.

A wedding in March is never a guaranteed prospect concerning the weather. However everyone was pleased that the day not only stayed dry but had a wonderful tone that worked great for photos and video.

As you can see from the following screenshot, Melissa looked absolutely stunning in her dress and was so photogenic to capture on the day. As her step father walks her to the church, the bridesmaid’s get emotional.

The ceremony itself took place inside the church. As usual we caught all the action from three different cameras to make sure we had great angles. All while being as subtle and unobtrusive as possible of course!

After this the wedding party moved back to Mottram Hall for photos and celebrations. I enjoy working with different photographers, as we usually work closely with each other through the day. Emily Robinson was fantastic to work with and captured some stunning images.

Michael was loving the portrait shoot. His former model days had obviously prepped him well!

The venue looks stunning as always is the case at Mottram hall. Alison at Lasting Memories always takes the utmost care to make the room look just so for the speeches.

In this screenshot you can see the couple walking in to celebrate the night away.

Magician Mark Richards entertained the couple and guests through the wedding breakfast. By the end the night it was time to cut the cake. As you can see on Michael’s face, this was no easy feat when doing it with a sword!
